Terms of Use
Last updated 6 November 2026
Train safe, respect the app, and know how paying works.
1. This agreement
These Terms are between you and Original Copy Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, number 16908021, with its registered office at B703 Icon Heights, 14 Bury Road, London, England, N22 6FA. They cover the Tonzo app and website. By tapping I agree in the app, you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We alone are responsible for Tonzo and its content.
2. You must be 18 or over
Tonzo is for adults. By agreeing, you confirm you’re at least 18.
3. Your health and safety
Kettlebell training is physical and carries a real risk of injury. Tonzo can’t see you or know your health. Its plans, videos, voice coach and Bell Score are general fitness guidance. They aren’t medical advice, and they don’t diagnose, treat or prevent anything.
- Talk to a doctor before you start if you have heart trouble, high blood pressure or fainting, an injury, back or joint pain, recent surgery, a pregnancy or birth in the last year, or a condition or medicine that affects exercise.
- Stop if you feel chest pain, dizziness, severe breathlessness or sharp pain. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Check your bell before use, clear 2 metres around you, and keep kids and pets away.
- Choose weights you can control. You decide what you lift and when to stop, whatever the app suggests.
Sleep, heart rate and other readings come from your devices and may be wrong or missing, so the Bell Score is only an estimate.
4. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Tonzo on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms. You may not copy, resell or redistribute Tonzo, take its content (including its videos, programs and voice), reverse engineer it except where the law lets you, or use it to break the law.
Tonzo, its content and its brand belong to us or our licensors. Your training data stays yours.
5. Early access
While Tonzo is in testing, Pro features are free. Test versions can change, break or lose features, and we’ll tell you before Pro stops being free. Keep nothing in Tonzo that you couldn’t bear to lose until the app has been released.
6. Tonzo Pro
Once Pro is on sale, you can buy it as an annual or monthly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you pay. Apple takes payment through your Apple Account, and Apple’s terms also apply to your purchase.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the same length and the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged within the 24 hours before renewal.
- Free trial: if a plan offers one, it starts when you subscribe. You’re charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Unused trial time ends if you buy another plan.
- Cancelling: in iOS Settings, under your Apple Account, Subscriptions. You keep Pro until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or erasing your data doesn’t cancel a subscription.
- Price changes: Apple will tell you in advance and ask for your agreement where required.
- Lifetime: means for as long as we offer Tonzo, not for your lifetime. If we close Tonzo, section 11 applies.
- Invites: once Pro is on sale, you can send a friend a code for a free month of Pro. Apple handles it as an offer code, for new subscribers only, under Apple’s terms. We can change or end it at any time.
7. Hugs
A hug is an optional tip that supports Tonzo while it’s free. It unlocks no features and promises nothing in return: it’s a thank you, and we’re grateful for it. Your first hug makes you a founding member, which the app thanks you for in Settings. Hugs in TestFlight builds are Apple’s test purchases: nothing is charged and they aren’t real hugs.
8. Refunds
Apple handles all payments, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you’re in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a digital purchase, but you lose that right once you’ve agreed to immediate access and started using it. This doesn’t affect your rights if Tonzo is faulty.
9. Support and updates
We alone provide support for Tonzo. Email hello@tonzo.app. Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support. We may update Tonzo to improve it, fix problems or keep it safe. Keep it updated, as older versions may stop working.
10. Your data and backups
Your training data sits on your device and in your iCloud, not with us, so we can’t recover it for you. Keep your iCloud on if you want a backup. iCloud is Apple’s service and has its own terms.
11. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting Tonzo and cancelling any subscription. We may suspend your licence if you seriously break these Terms. We may also close Tonzo, and if we do we’ll give you reasonable notice where we can. If we close Tonzo within 12 months of a lifetime purchase, ask Apple for a refund or email us, and we’ll help.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and your legal rights as a consumer. If you live in the UK or EU, digital content must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
Subject to that:
- Tonzo is provided as it is. We don’t promise it’ll be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you’ll get a particular result.
- We aren’t responsible for injury or loss caused by ignoring section 3, by faulty equipment, or by anything outside our reasonable control.
- We aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, or for business losses.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid for Tonzo in the 12 months before the claim, or £50.
Some US states don’t allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Apple
You and we agree that:
- Warranty: to the extent any warranty applies and isn’t validly disclaimed, we are responsible for it, not Apple. If Tonzo fails to meet a warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty duty for Tonzo.
- Claims: we, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about Tonzo, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- Intellectual property: if anyone claims Tonzo or your use of it infringes their rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.
- Legal compliance: you confirm you aren’t in a country under a US embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and you aren’t on any US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party terms: you must follow any applicable third-party terms when using Tonzo, such as your wireless data agreement.
- Third-party beneficiary: Apple and its subsidiaries benefit from these Terms, and Apple may enforce them against you.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when Pro goes on sale or the law changes. For material changes, the app will ask you to agree again before you next train. If you don’t agree, stop using Tonzo and cancel any subscription.
15. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts can hear any dispute. If you live elsewhere, you keep the mandatory protections of your home country and can bring a claim in your local courts. Please email us first, as most things can be fixed quickly.
If part of these Terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something right away, we can still do so later. You can’t transfer this agreement without our agreement. Nobody other than you, us and Apple can enforce it.
